The first step to installing a renewable energy system is determining the type and size of system you need! What do you want out of your renewable energy system? How do the layout of your home, surrounding landscape, geographic location and energy consumption patterns influence the type of system you need? The following calculators will help you to answer some of these questions.

Hello. We have a 120 yr old farm house with a large metal roof with a clear West facing and East facing slope. I would like to know if there is any advantage to installing solar panels and what that investment would be. We live on Washburn Island. Do you charge for an assessment?

I apologize for not replying before. Your message got lost in the spam.

The total installed cost for a 10 kW net meter solar system is typically around $30,000 including tax. At the current price for electricity a system of that size would offset about $2000 annually in electricity costs. If the cost of electricity increases, then the solar system would be offsetting a larger amount.
Also, there is a government incentive available that can help with the economics.
